History of Literacy
My literacy history has been one filled with fantasy and alternate universes. My literacy history is filled with fantasy novels with magic and dragons. My first reads included epic series such as Lord of the Rings. I started with the Hobbit(obviously) and continued from there. Other famous fantasy series that I have read include Harry Potter and The Inheritance series. Harry Potter I had a lot of trouble starting to read when i was 9ish. This however was mainly because i started with the second book of the series rather than the first. This confused me and i was prompted to stop reading the series. The Inheritance series is incredibly important to me personally. He created a very popular series starting with "Eragon." It's important to me because the author Christopher Paolini began writing the novel at seventeen. This has influenced me because although being a writer will not be my career choice, I am currently writing a crime/suspense novel that I've been working on for the past 6-8 months. He has helped keep me motivated while writing because I know that I actually might be able to write a book that's halfway decent. Just so all my readers know, I will not divulge the plot of my story(mainly because i fear that it will suck)so don't ask. Back to literacy, one of the authors that I have started to enjoy in the last few years has been Stephen King. The first ever novel of his that I read was The Stand. It is an AMAZING novel that kept me involved throughout. My literacy is now changing after Stephen King from a more fantasy base to a science fiction base. My literacy will probably continue to change.

ah, fantasy and alternate universes! Ah, Bilbo Baggins! Glad you liked "The Stand," too... let me know how you make out with King... he is a wonderful storyteller...
ReplyDeleteIt seems we like the same types of novels. Stephen King is a great author and I will have to read The Stand soon.
